Overview
Alpolic ACM is Mitsubishi Chemical's aluminum composite panel system — the primary competitor to Dibond on commercial sign projects. Both use aluminum-PE-aluminum construction, but Alpolic's PVDF coil-coating process produces a harder, more chemically-resistant painted surface than polyester-coated ACM alternatives. This matters for direct UV flatbed printing and for long-term exterior performance with aggressive cleaning chemistries. Fabrication is identical to Dibond: saw-cut, CNC-route, V-groove, and fold with standard metalworking equipment. The 4mm panels provide noticeably more rigidity over large unsupported spans compared to 3mm — specify 4mm for panels over 4 feet wide or any cladding application requiring mid-span support reduction.
