Overview
.040" 5052-H38 painted aluminum is the workhorse material for flat-panel commercial sign faces, lit cabinet skins, and formed aluminum letter returns. The 5052-H38 alloy balances corrosion resistance, formability, and stiffness — it bends cleanly on a press brake without cracking and holds the shape. The factory-applied polyester coil coating is cured before sheeting, producing a smooth, even film that accepts screen printing, direct UV print, and vinyl graphics without priming. For exposed coastal or chemically aggressive environments, specify PVDF-coated aluminum for superior long-term color retention.
