Overview
Paper application tape is the standard transfer medium for cut-vinyl graphics — it picks the vinyl off its release liner in alignment, allows the assembled graphic to be positioned and repositioned on the substrate, then releases cleanly after squeegeeing. RTape AT-65 is the industry workhorse: the kraft paper backing is stiff enough to hold large letter arrays flat during transfer but flexible enough to conform to gently curved substrates. Medium tack means the tape grips the vinyl face firmly without lifting edge details or silvering after the vinyl is squeegeed down. Use high-tack clear tape for low-energy vinyl surfaces, thick cast vinyls, or registration-critical layered graphic work.
